Supervisor Tips
Let everyone know that you are the supervisor.
Volunteers must sign in the sign up sheet and reminded they need to
sign out, if the could put # of hrs on the line it would be helpful.
Volunteers need vest on .
Decide on Positions. Assign a cook to be in charge of the inside
canteen. Assign someone to perform the administrative function
(meal count and volunteer hours). Assign someone as a Warehouse
person. Other positions may include Front line supervisor and a
line stocker/runner.
Suggest a 5 minute group meeting before a shift with overall info, and
basic flow description.
Discuss with the administrative person how to do the meal count.
Remind everyone that the refrigerator truck needs to be closed up at
all times.
Always keep some boxes around, we’re forever needing them for
something. Save the bun wrappings, the bags can be useful in
transporting foods.
Remind our “staff” to be hydrating, resting and eating.
Rotate people where/when possible especially off the grill.
Be sure to store empty pallets flat and not leaning.
