Coffeepot,  Serving Warmer, and Holding Warmer

General Information The unit has a propane coffeepot with a hot water jacket.  It also has propane food warmers for keeping food hot.

The serving warmer is often used to keep sandwiches warm and ready to eat.

The Holding warmer is for storing trays of warm food.

Lighting the pilot lights

The Coffeepot and warmers use the same system to control the pilot light and temperature.  The knob controls the temperature.  To light the pilot light, push in the red button, light the pilot light, and continue to hold the red button for at least ten seconds.  Once the pilot light will stay on, turn the knob to the on position.  There is one pilot light and control for the coffeepot, one for the serving warmer, and two for the holding warmer, one for each compartment.

Note that each appliance has its own individual propane shutoff valve, look for the red handle.

Filling the coffeepot

The coffeepot is filled by removing the large lid.  The water jacket is filled at the small hole in the right front of the top of the coffeepots, usually plugged shut.   The water in the water jacket becomes the hot water from the spigot.

Be sure to check the coffeepot for mold before adding water.

Making coffee

Start with one half pound of instant coffee per pot, and add more to taste if needed.  Be sure to put in the water first, then the coffee.

Serving coffee

A short hose can be used to transfer the coffee or hot water from the coffeepot to a serving cambro, which can be set on a table outside for self service.

Draining and cleaning the coffeepot

Before putting away the unit,  drain out all the coffee and rinse out the pot.  Be sure to open both the spigots.

To prevent mold from growing in the coffeepot in storage, leave the lids off the pots to allow them to completely dry.

Serving Warmer

The serving Warmer is found on the right side of the truck.  It has plexiglass doors inside and outside.  This is frequently used to hold sandwiches warm until they are needed.  The temperature should be set a little over 140F for food safety; check with a thermometer.  Need picture of serving warmer.

Holding Warmer

The holding warmer is found on the left rear of the truck.  It has two doors, with the capability of holding dozens of pans of food.  There is a separate pilot light and control for each door.  The temperature should be set a little over 140F for food safety; check with a thermometer.
