The grille runs on propane. There are a couple
of valves, in addition to the main control knob. The one blue
knob
is under the counter to the right of the grille. The safety
shutoff
valve is right next to the button that you push to light the pilot
light,
but it is basically hidden behind the front panel, so hard to see. If
you are having trouble lighting the grille, turn the hidden safety
shutoff
valve clockwise.

To light the pilot light
|
To light the pilot light, check that the blue knob under the counter is on, and that the hidden valve behind the front panel are on. Push up on the button that controls the pilot light. Reach into the hole on the front panel to light the pilot light. Note that this pilot is recessed well behind the front panel, so it it easiest to light this pilot with a lighter with a long extention. |

Hidden Safety Shutoff Valve
This is a view looking up under the grille. Note the hidden safety shutoff valve, usually left on. This safety valve can switch off if the propane tank goes empty, preventing relighting of the grille, until the valve is switched back on. Clockwise is on. |
Grille Fan
|
When the Grille is in use, the exhaust fan should be on. The fan switch is on the ceiling. |
The grille fan filter can be removed for cleaning by pushing in the rings and rotating them. A removed filter unit is shown. |
