Steam Table

General Information

The steam table is a way to keep food warm while it is being served.  It is the same type used in cafeterias everywhere.  The water in the steam table is heated by a propane burner under the table.  No electricity is involved.

Starting the steam table

First, put about one inch of water in the table, using the convenient water spout.  In order to use the spigot, the truck needs to have a water hose connected to it, and the valve next to the water hose has to be in the vertical position.

Second, light the pilot light under the steam table, using the controls below and to the right of the steam table.  Turn the black knob to PILOT  and hold it in while lighting the pilot light under the steam table.  Wait a few seconds, and release the knob and turn it to ON.  The controls are similar to those for the coffeepot and warmer, as discussed in the coffeepot section of the manual.
